I ordered a couple of books from Amazon.co.uk a week ago and it only dawned on me recently that they hadn't arrived yet. Not like Amazon, they are pretty good on that front. So logged into my account to see what was what. Found this amusing error message in my tracking details:

What on earth does "mis-sorted by carrier" mean?
Was there a guy standing there with a barcode reader scanning stuff as it went passed and for some reason he missed fired and missed my parcel?
I imagine it like the baggage return at an airport - he had to wait near on 9 hours for it to come around again so he could have another go at it!
Tickled me at any rate as far as excuses go.
